It deserves 5 stars from every perspective. It’s a very small restaurant and the server trying the best taking care of us. The food quality definitely is there. And definitely worth your money. It’s connected to a gas station so it’s fun. A little different. Miso soup is great balance. Not too salty. Yellow tail jalapeno is great cuz they use the fatty yellow tail. Every roll we had I have no complaints. I gotta say how delicious the uni (sea urchin) is. It’s so buttery so yummy so worth your money. Last thing ,They don’t do reservations during weekends.

My favorite sushi place of NC 🤩🤩🤩 I don’t care if I have to drive almost an hour to get there, I’ll just do. Sashimi and rolls are top of the line 🔥 everything so fresh and yummy. If you never had escolar fish before I highly recommend to try it 🤤 For lunch they have really good deals and combos, even the California rolls are delicious. For dinner, they don’t have combos but you still get great prices/portions of food.

An amazing experience at Akami this Monday night. I was seated promptly and well taken care of. The Sake selection is divine and the sushi fresh and masterfully crafted right in front of you by owner Bird himself. The best sushi in the triangle without a doubt. The quality is unmatched and the price point unbeatable. Do yourself a favor and visit Akami, you will be not be disappointed.

Have been twice so far and everything except the eel is delicious. 1st time was during lunch with my friends and we all got one roll each and it was perfect. Great portion sizes, price, and service. My favorite thing is always eel, so of course I got it, but it made my stomach a bit uneasy afterwards and wasn't the best. I figured maybe my stomach was just having a day, so the 2nd time I've been was for dinner and I got a different eel roll, but it also was not good. The eel seemed old and bit chewy/burnt, not sure what the situation was, but not something I'd recommend, which is upsetting. Besides the eel, everything else has been great and I've recommended this place to so many people, and they've all loved it as well. It's a small place, and easy to miss, but worth it! Parking is limited so you may need to park at the Bojangles if it's too busy, because the gas station has signs for just gas station parking. Service was great and it was a great atmosphere with lots of regulars from the conversations we overheard with the staff.

Hands down the best sushi I've had in the RDU area. Nothing else even comes close! The quality and flavor of the food is consistently amazing, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. I keep coming back regularly because every visit is consistently excellent. If you're a sushi lover, Akami Sushi Bar is a must-try.
