It was my first time here and I enjoyed it, they had little Japanese Knick knacks you can purchase, a variety of drinks and sakes. It was clean and tidy, small eating area. I must say their chicken Karaage and dip is amazing, their cold noodles is not my jam. The nigiri was fresh. The service was quick and friendly. They have outside seating as well.

Yama is my favorite hole in the wall foodie spot in West LA. Introduced this haunt to multiple friends and they've all become frequent customers. Fish is fresh and fish market quality. They cut up your order at the counter and offer a rotating display of seafood. Be sure to pick up a salmon or Hamachi collar to pop in the oven later. The only place I get california rolls from, they are enormous and the sushi is the best value and quality for price you will find in LA. My favorite budget meal is getting the pokebowl or california roll and cut up sashimi at the counter.

Yama has become one of my favorite sushi shops. I first tried the K-town location and later discovered this one. Yama consistently offers fresh sushi, and this location is no exception. It's slightly smaller than the K-town location and tends to be more crowded.

If you love sushi, this place will surely be your Jam! I walked in Yama and nearly lost my top because there were so many options! From Spam musubi, to sashimi, to karage chicken and various types of rollls- there is so many reasons to love this market!! But the true kicker was the prices, Everything was super inexpensive, especially compared to restaurants! I must note that even tho the prices were reasonable, there was no skip on flavor nor freshness! I must also note that even tho Yama has market in their name, this place can not be in no way, shape, or form be compared to Supermarket sushi! It’s seriously better than a lot of sushi that I’ve eaten at restaurants!! Honestly, I was on the fence about writing this review because I kinda wanted to gatekeep this spot for myself lol but what buisness doesn’t appreciate favorable review! They also have large order platters that are insanely excellent in price- especially for the quality! I’ve eaten plenty of sushi from high end, to NEVER AGAIN and I’m telling you Yama can easily hold their own!!

Wow. I honestly haven't seen a good sushi place to get this packed since we went to Japan! We purchased four fresh rolls for literally $36. Unheard of around here in Los Angeles. This place is absolutely delicious. I love the lemon roll and the salmon sushi. The California rolls are so giant and delicious, there's just so much sushi to choose from! This location gets really busy quickly and since they make the sushi rolls fresh, be prepared to either wait in line or wait in line behind the refrigerators as the sushi comes out. Parking is a little difficult, but it is free. There is a lot but we found parking on the neighborhood street. It's right next to chipotle. Honestly, I don't think we're gonna go back to Sugarfish ever... I think we found our new sushi spot
