Specialties: All of our food is prepared fresh daily. We have daily food specials consisting of a soup, and usually up to 3 other specialty items to go along with our full menu. In 1888 a rowdy, Colorado City resident named Prairie Dog O'Byrne (so named beacuse of the prairie dog running in a wheel on the back of his wagon) purchased two bull elk and hitched them to his carriage. He named the elk Thunder and Buttons. O'Byrne and Laura Bell, another infamous West Side character from the red light district, would race the elk drawn carriage up and down Colorado Avenue and down into the heart of Colorado Springs - causing an upset to the gentry. O'Byrne spent most of his time carousing in the 21 saloons lining Colorado Avenue in what is now "Old Colorado City". In 1978, a local historian told this story to a young entrepreneur who purchased one of the old saloons on Colorado Avenue. He decided to name his new "saloon and eatery" after the two elk. The Gals (waitstaff) here are superb! They are all attentive, knowledgeable, have a great memory. Some of the best customer service in town. Anytime we've ordered food we've been impressed. Recently it was their Mushroom Swiss burger w/fries and the Brussels Sprouts (bacon on the side). I like how the burger was NOT as I was expecting in the melted sense but instead a more firm Swiss and mushrooms. I love that lettuce and tomato comes on the burger. It was all delicious! And again, I cannot say enough about the waitstaff, they're awesome. Go see for yourself.

I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Balsamic Brussels Sprouts, and both were fantastic! The chicken was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. I just wish there was a bit more sauce to enhance the flavors. The homemade ranch here is absolutely delicious. The Brussels sprouts were incredible—definitely a must-try, and I love that they’re available as a side option. If you’re looking for great bar food, this is the place to go! The service was fast and excellent.

Good food and friendly service. Visited on taco Tuesday, it was very good. Quaint little atmosphere, seems they have live music, trivia and other entertainment. Good place to stop if you're in the area.

The atmosphere was fun and pub like. Our server was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. Our Dixie chicken sandwich was very crispy but a little bland. Others in our party had the KFC and the mushroom swiss burger. They all expressed enjoyment if their meals.
