Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, with a thoughtfully curated tasting menu that delighted from start to finish. The service was impeccable, exemplified by Dan at the bar, who provided fascinating insights into the origins and traditions behind the dishes. Each bite reflected a mastery of culinary craft, underscored by the restaurant’s well-deserved Michelin distinction for four consecutive years. The ambiance was both romantic and elegantly atmospheric, elevating the entire evening. If it were possible to bestow six stars, this establishment would undoubtedly merit it.

…WOW it’s been a WHILE since we’ve had such an amazing dinner. We went for the tasting menu, wine pairing and caviar opener. From the get-go, this place packed their food w a punch. Infused in myriads of flavors R&O masterfully concocts dishes that are outwardly superb. There’s no other way of putting it. They’re not shy of their excellence either, and proudly describe each dish to the last ingredients’ spice region. Honestly keeping up with the amount of ingredients used to create the final repertoire was a feat unto itself. I cannot imagine how one would keep this organized in the kitchen. But what I loved most about their food was the nod to Asian tastes used. Personally Asian food is the best in the world. So to me, any chef inspired by our rich Asian heritage is a plus. Rooster & Owl is the #1 restaurant we’ve been to in DC this year. Hands down. What a great way to end the year.

4.5 stars. I went here with my friend and we sat at the bar (we got lucky, as we did not make a reservation). The service here was wonderful. Everyone -- the host, our bartender, the servers -- was welcoming, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. The martinis and our bottle of orange wine were delicious. The food was very good; every dish, including dessert, was full of flavor. My favorites were the Steak Tartar, Gnocchi, Maple cake and Chocolate Mousse. Docking a point for portions compared to the price of the tasting menu. There just wasn't enough food for the cost. One more additional menu option would have been great.

One of the top restaurants in DC. We sat at the bar and received exceptional food and service. I let the bartender make me his take on an espresso martini since they don’t carry espresso, and it was perhaps the greatest cocktail I’ve ever tried. It was a great, cozy place to go for a special occasion.

Absolutely phenomenal. Don’t listen to these wannabe critics leaving less than five stars. The experience was world class. Everything was done perfectly from the service, the food, the flavors, the presentation. They personalized everything for us the attention to detail was perfect.
