Ristorante Del Lago was a nice dinner while staying on property. Service was phenomenal throughout, and we had a pleasant evening view of the water. Our entrees however were fairly tasteless throughout, and with prices so high I expected more flavor. With that said, the gelato and espresso martini for dessert were standouts.

Our server Alvaro made our experience incredible. He was so friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our evening special. Ordered the carbonara and it was delicious and authentic. And the tiramisu was excellent!

Very upscale Italian Restaurant. They make the pasta and bread on house. Beautiful views overlooking the water!

Food -- Large but well-structured menu of a variety of Italian dishes for all courses one would desire. The food itself is of good quality ingredients and decent preparation -- a bit under-seasoned for my palate, but that's me. The wine and cocktail list are sufficiently large without being intimidating (and, honestly, the house Rosso was just fine). Service -- As with all the Broadmoor, service was solid, attentive, friendly, and helpful. Top notch. Ambiance -- Nicely appointed dining room, with picture window views of the Broadmoor lake and main buildings. My only complaint here would be that the room's surfaces make it very noisy -- my dinner mate and I could chat, but I had problems hearing the waitress at our table. Value -- The Broadmoor is expensive, and this restaurant is no exception. With a carafe of House Red and an starter and main each, plus a coffee and an after dinner drink, it was over $100 a person for the two of us. Definitely worth it for special occasions; maybe not for casual dining. Net-Net -- Glad we went. Next time we are staying at the Broadmoor, we'll certainly be back.

*Update* Was convinced to come back for a second try. Came back NOT during a conference week. The quality and experience was night and day difference. So much flavor and much better portion size. Had the mussels and rigatoni. Outstanding service as well with Gracie and the other staff. Great view of the lake. Under seasoned sauce, underwhelming/overpriced portion size, bitter olive oil. Surprising as they allegedly get their olive oil from Italy. Will not return. Go to Summit instead.
