Apr 2024: Enjoyed the meal, this place was recommended to me and it was quite delicious had some pasteles which are a fried rectangular dish stuffed with your choice— I had cheese and pastel de palmito. It is quite greasy so make sure you get some napkins. There is a large language barrier where the members speak only in Portuguese which is a minor problem although had a tough time communicating for the wait time. They make these fresh so be prepared to wait. It also gets pretty hot inside so may feel uncomfortable on a hot day. It’s a cute little shop and highly recommend supporting local shops!

Whenever I think about eating pastel, I always think of this restaurant. The pastéis are well-filled and flavorful. They come with a homemade mayonnaise sauce, which is absolutely delicious.

I grew up coming here and I still do because the food is one of the best Brazilian food in Somerville. Everything is genuinely perfect. It’s a staple in the neighborhood. Its existence, for as long as I remember, despite all the gentrification in Somerville, means a lot to the community. Everything is changing (for the worst) but this staple still stands with good food that will make your soul smile and remind you everything is going to be okay. I love the x-tudo. Best cheeseburger in the world.
