Delicious food and very good service. Our neighbor recommended this restaurant for date night so we went. We actually wanted prime rib but it was sold out so we ended up ordering meatloaf and salmon dishes. They were so delicious that we forgot about prime rib. We will be back for sure.

Excellent food with a great selection of Colorado craft beers. I highly recommend that you visit here and enjoy the Shaved Steak and Arugula with a side of Au Jus. But anything I try is delicious and worth a visit. It does get very busy due to the chef driven menu and quality.

Sometimes when you’re not looking, you uncover a hidden gem. I had driven by this place a few times, stopped by outside to look in and thought well there’s not much here. This week I heard a couple people talking about this place called the Northside Tavern talking about how great it was, all I could think was the place that I have driven by a bunch of times and doesn’t look like much? I had actually driven by the place in the somewhat rundown shopping center. I asked a bunch of questions of the people that were talking about it, to make sure this was the same place. I was thinking about, thinking this Surely cannot be the place… but tonight I decided to try it! When we first arrived, it was completely packed, we put our names on the list, and were told it would be about a 30 minute wait, which was OK because we went for a walk while we waited for the table to be ready. My wife ordered a Reuben with a side of fries, and I had the French dip with a side of fries, and the dessert was a very delicious slice of Keylime pie! I must say for a little tavern their food is quite nice. The Homemade Keylime pie was outstanding, it is every bit worth of $9.50 that I paid for it! I included a picture, about twice the thickness of normal Keylime pies, and the presentation was exceptional! Something else that I noticed while I was there, there was a guy coming by and he was actually greeting everybody and seeing how the food was, making sure that drinks and everything were OK. I’ll need to find out later. It was the owner, I have very rarely seen managers, let alone owners give the level of service that this man was giving. I was actually so impressed that I asked his name, “ it’s Steve” he said and shook my hand. I congratulated him on a very well run restaurant and let him know that he would be getting a great review! I asked the server that was serving us. Her name was Drea, about the place and she said this place is filled with pretty much everybody in the neighborhood, everybody knows everybody here! I think she said she had worked there six years. So if you’re looking for the type of restaurant that we used to have years ago, that was similar to the series “Cheers”, I would highly suggest a stop in here! Do yourself a favor and stop here to have a decent bite of food, and please do not forget the homemade Keylime pie that will rock your taste buds, the recipe is straight from the Florida Keys !

new to the area, tried this place and was not disappointed. started with the pretzel sticks, very good! i got the popper burger with fries. burger was cooked to perfection, good flavor and the fries were well cooked. my girlfriend got the fish and chips, it came with 2 large hunks of fish cooked and seasoned perfectly. they have a large selection of local draft beer. staff was super friendly and love the atmosphere. too bad they don't offer onion rings. i don't say this about too many places but will definitely come back.

We went here based off of reviews online so we weren't entirely sure what to expect. Upon arriving we found that North Side Tavern was located at the end of a simple shoppong center so if this is your first time going, look sharp or you'll miss it. Parking is a bit of a PIA but the lot is pretty big. Once you walk in you'll see it's a pretty cozy place and very tavernesque. The bar is fairly large and it looked like there was seating for at least 100 people inside. We arrived for an early dinner so there wasn't a wait (the hostess greeted us right away and showed us to an open booth) though the place filled up quickly. We were surprised (and relieved) to see that the clientele on this particular evening was probably averaging an age around 50, so the mood was quite tepid. The menu has quite a number of comfort type foods and we just opted for a couple of simple sandwiches and drinks. The beer list was OK and the wine list here is simple to say the least. Our waiter was on top of things and took our order after we asked for another couple minutes to look over the menu further. Our food came out on time and at a good temperature and I must say we were very happy with our selections. Of course we did opt for the big churro sundae which is easily shareable. FYI, the coffee was surprisingly good, the waiter made us a fresh pot and it was not weak. My only negative comment for North Side Tavern is that it does seem a bit dated and possibly in need of an update but I certainly wouldn't hold that against them. We will eat here again and will try some real entrees next time. Update 1 year later: North Side Tavern was just as good as the last time we visited! We sat outside on this trip and saw no difference from the outstanding service we experienced last visit. I had a "cup" of New England clam chowder which is big enough for two people if they both wanted a "cup" of chowder...not kidding. I won't try to imagine how big a bowl full is here. It was very tasty and loaded with clam pieces of all sizes(I think 2 pieces were przctically a whole clam, lol!) Their cowder is better than alot I've had back east. Our entrees this trip were all sandwiches once again, which did not disappoint. We will be driving the 30 minutes to dine here another day.
