Mother Tongue was a delightful gem! The ambiance, music, decor, and sunset views were just perfection. Our group shared several appetizers including the Three Spreads (Toasted Walnut Muhammara, Whipped Avocado, and Beet Hummus) with Pita bread, the Yellowtail Crudo, the grilled oyster mushrooms, and the Korean beef short ribs. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Toasted Walnut spread and the Yellowtail Crudo. For my main, I tried the Roasted Spanish Octopus - it was delicate and just the right amount of food for me. The others in my party tried the Salmon, the Lamb, the Duck, the Wagyu, and the Sea Bass. Everything was wonderful! The wine list had good variety and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Wednesdays were 1/2 off bottle night! Score! Our servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely restaurant. It is good value for the amazing food and wine, and has a beautiful view also.

Overall pretty solid. I loved how much honey/pollen was worked into the menu. Service was good, although they poured still into my half full sparkling (not a big deal). Aesthetic was nice enough but felt a bit cheap. I could see this kind of design getting tacky over the next few years. Menu was really creative and all the dishes I tried were at least solid, some were delicious. Good date night spot.

What an incredible set of clean, so well portioned and delicious dishes. You can tell they source quality ingredients. Each dish was so perfectly balanced. I cannot wait to go back. It is a bit difficult to find but once you get it it’s fine.

The restaurant is located in an alley behind the gym and it's on the fourth floor, so find the elevator and go up. There's free street parking after 8 PM and the restaurant also provides parking validation. The restaurant decor is elegant and warm, reminds me of a classy ice cream parlor. We got seated at the outdoor patio. It was a nice setting but I felt that it took a longer than normal time for the waitress to serve our food. The menu was creative and offers interesting options with Middle Eastern and Filipino inspired dishes. We ordered the three spreads for appetizer, the Striped Bass and Roasted Duck for entree. I don't recommend the the Striped Bass because the portion is quite small even for me as an Asian lady. The duck looks more satisfying. Overall I think the food is a bit pricey for the portion, but it's a cute place to hang out for brunch or date night.

A group of us came to Mother Tongue for a birthday brunch. Having not been there before, finding the 'secret side entrance' took a minute, but the search was well worth it! Arrived to a beautiful space, high ceilings, picture windows, and a gracious staff. Our server Matthew deserves special mention for making our party such a great time. He was very attentive, patient and such fun. He made sure we had everything we wanted and then some. And what we got were delicious drinks, appealing appetizers and scrumptious and sharable main dishes. They even served the birthday cake to our table! Some of us are in the marketing business and we were surprised (and disappointed for the staff) that Mother Tongue wasn't packed. Maybe think about not being so precious with the "enter on Romaine" of it all and shout it to the Hollywood Hills that there's an amazing restaurant hiding in plain sight! All involved have a place to really brag about. Will be returning for sure!
