Specialties: High-energy New American chain with wood-fired pizzas & bistro fare served in industrial-chic digs. Located on the bustling 8th Street corridor of Barracks Row, our second location in Washington, D.C. was built out of love for the revered Capitol Hill neighborhood. A former vending machine warehouse built in 1927, some of the treasures found in this building are skylights covered up for decades, original timber beams, and a shuffleboard that now serves as the main bar top. Our lofty mezzanine accommodates 44 guests seated, or 30 guests standing, so there's plenty of space for intimate dinners, private parties and get-togethers. For the best seat in the house, ask for "the Box." It's the original cube booth that we're famous for. Established in 2004. Long before we struck our first match, lit our brick oven and welcomed our first guest, stood a vision for a high energy restaurant with delicious food and drinks that would come to be known for bringing people together. In 2002 we found an old vacant building in the heart of Washington DC and outlined a set of core beliefs that would be the first step in bringing our vision to life.

This place is sooooo good! We (my family and I) ordered the mini burgers, crab dip, and pepperoni pizza. Literally EVERYTHING was so good! Our waitress Angelica was super kind. Anyways, the restaurant is very cute and pretty on the inside, they have a great playlist, and they're fast to work. The food also tastes better than it looks. Very happy with this place! :D

We met here today for our monthly girls’ brunch - the theme was Brunch & Boots, Cowgirl Style 🤠. From the moment we entered the door to the time we left (several hours later), we received top notch service. The General Manager, Tracy, came over to personally see that our needs were met, and the entire service team was attentive, friendly, and hospitable. Our food was brought out quickly and exceeded our expectations. The amazing music added to an already festive atmosphere and was just the bonus we needed. We will definitely be back!

A great spot to go to for relaxed and down to earth atmosphere. I went right after the Cherry Blossom Parade and beat the crowd. Amazing arancini and phenomenal simple salad with added crispy chicken. A great mix and super filling for one person.

Was my first time stopping by. We received excellent customer service from Tracy T. There were so many food choices to choose from . The atmosphere is so beautiful and peaceful, totally recommend for a date. Will definitely be returning.

We came for unlimited brunch and had a great time! I enjoyed the catfish (the grits less, though I can be picky about grits), the stuffed french toast, the biscuits, and many of the other offerings. Nothing here will blow you away, but everything was made correctly the first time and tasted pretty good to very good. My table also ordered a champagne tower (apple cider, which I thought was good but not as sweet as I expected). We were absolutely stuffed when we left, and for three people, the champagne tower was just a liiiittle too much to escape without feeling tipsy. I'd definitely come back as there were many dishes I didn't get a chance to try. In addition, our waiter Tiffany was absolutely lovely, and our service was attentive without being overbearing.
