Machete in Greensboro is an absolute gem—easily one of the best restaurants in the city! From the moment you walk in, you know you’re in for something special. The food is not just good; it’s interesting, with flavors and textures that keep you guessing in the best way possible. And for the quality and portions? Shockingly well-priced! Our waiter was fantastic—polite, knowledgeable, and rocking a tiara like a true king. He broke down the menu perfectly since it’s a little vague, making sure we knew exactly what we were in for. And let’s talk about the seating—this place brings people together, literally. You’re so close to other diners that conversations just happen naturally, and trust me, you want to know what everyone else is eating. Now, the food. The duck wings? Absolute 🔥. The monkfish? Delicious. But the Brussels sprouts? OH. MY. GOODNESS. They came out like The Rock stepping into the ring—bold, loud, and ready to lay the smackdown on my taste buds. If you know what The Rock is cooking, you need to try these. No doubt about it, I’ll be back. Machete is a must-visit spot for any food lover in Greensboro!

Food was very good, but SMALL plates. I mean small. Has the duck wings, best for taste and size. Cauliflower dish was fine but small. Monkfish taste was great, but only two medallions. Meatballs should be missed especially for the price. Appetizer rice ball’s were the best thing of the night, but only three served. Cauliflower dish shown.

My husband and I sat at the bar and had a stellar dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain various dishes to us. The food was AMAZING!! The menu is interesting and thoughtful, and everything was delicious. The space has a casual, but upscale vibe, and the bar stools were well-spaced out, so we had plenty of room to spread out. We will definitely go back to sample the rest of the menu and try a couple of the creative and beautiful cocktails. 100% recommend!!!

Wow. We were taken aback by how wonderful this restaurant is. We kept telling each other, “this is like an Asheville or NYC restaurant in GSO!” The staff is so knowledgeable, and each dish came to us with an explanation, which I love! They were also so warm, kind, and congenial. Each dish we tried was delicious and well-plated, and the craft cocktails were so impressive. We tried: Duck Wings 9/10 Crab Salad 10/10 Scallop Toast 10000/10 Charred Cabbage 8/10 Tiramisu 1.5 million/10 I also have to give a shout out to the cook line. You can see them as you eat, and they were hard-working & so friendly!!

Greensboro is incredibly fortunate to have Machete. If you're seeking a dining experience on par with a Michelin-starred restaurant in North Carolina, this is a must-visit. Once you've had dinner and drinks here, you'll find yourself returning with each seasonal menu change - and likely for their Supper Club and Dueling Sommeliers events as well.
