We love this casual little Japanese restaurant, and have been coming here from the Chicago area for years- it's full of character, the food is always amazing, and it's right on the main drag in Galena. Most recent visit was to bring our adult kids, and they seemed to enjoy it! We ordered a little bit of everything, mostly rolls, and as a result, got it served in the big boat! Lots of fun. Service was friendly and didn't take long, prices as always are very reasonable. One little quirk to remember- if you need to setup a reservation for a group, you can only do it within 24 hrs of the time you want to come- and over the phone. Very happy eating here as usual, and will keep coming back!

We went for lunch and were blown away by the quality and spice of this food! Highly recommend the beef bento box - the meat was tender and perfectly medium rare and paired perfectly with a peppery and warm fried rice. Staff were quick and courteous which made for a delightful small stop.

Absolutely glad we made it here for lunch! We got the California roll, crunch roll, and the Romeo and Juliet roll. Were blown away with the flavor and presentation. Our host was very friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely going to be a regular stop of ours on our travels!!!

I've lived in California most of my life & the sushi from here is so superb! Unbelievably fresh sushi & perfectly cooked & everything else! Food presentation is so whimsical & thoughtful, with added plate decor & mouthwatering sushi. The Dancing Scallops are a particular favorite of mine & my family's - just the best fried scallop ever. I dream of these babies. We ordered in for lunch & ordered a few more rolls to-go for dinner that evening at home!! The sushi menu is large & largely seaweed-free. Lots of rolls with rice paper or cucumber wrapping. There's quite a lot of options for people who dont like fish or have allergies and non-fish options. Also, I was able to eat here while PREGNANT! (Don't @ me lol) They have a big cooked sushi menu, which is a safer option for pregnant folks who are craving sushi but have worries about consuming raw fish or sushi CHECK THEM OUT!

The miso soup and salad were great. The miso soup was a bit more flavorful than many Japanese restaurants I've visited. The dressing was pretty heavy on the salad, but it was still good. Some thing I didn't quite enjoy was that they cut the egg roll appetizers in half in a triangle shape. I prefer my egg rolls whole, but that's not a big deal. My Downtown roll and smoked salmon rolls came out and looked and tasted fantastic. Definitely come here!
