When visiting DC, the kids declared we had to make our trip not only a Capital Tour, but an International Food Tour. If you’ve never tried Laos food, Laos is Town is the place to go. The food is unique, boldly flavored, and the portions are generous. We tried the Chive Cake, Crispy Rice Salad, Northern Noodle, and Ping Gai. The food is fresh, saucy, and delicious. Our table was particularly smitten with the chive cake and and the ping gai. The service was also fantastic. Our server Luis checked in on us frequently and we never went with empty water glasses - which was helpful because the Crispy Salad has a kick! This is unique and fantastic restaurant that is worth stoping by on your trip to DC!

This was my first time trying Lao cuisine, and Laos in Town made it unforgettable. We started with the Chive Cake appetizer. Crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside. Absolutely delicious and a great way to kick off the meal. I ordered the Suki, a flavorful bowl of rice noodles with shrimp, squid, egg, and Napa cabbage in a lightly spicy broth. The heat crept in just enough to wake up the taste buds without overpowering the dish. Every bite had a satisfying balance of texture and flavor. We chose to dine outside, and the patio setup was both inviting and comfortable. The entire experience was elevated by the staff, who were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Laos in Town turned a first-time experience into something I’ll absolutely return for. Highly recommend!

Never had Laos food and curious to try it out after hearing good words. This is such a nice place! I did not have reservation and just walked in. First of all, atmosphere was modern and upscale yet chilling and cultural. Sunny, my waiter, was fantastic. His service was so meticulous and detail-oriented. I ordered the grilled pork shoulder (very special) and wok noodle, both taste great. I also really liked the mocktail Lemongrass fizz, which was very refreshing. What a nice late lunch!

Came for lunch after browsing the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendations in DC and the group consensus chose here for an exotic taste of Laos. Food is flavorful and cooked well, and my favorites was the grilled pork shoulder has nice juicy bite and lamb shank curry which does dropped off the bone. Food is a tad sweet hence not getting my 5 stars and it is a personal preference. Service by Pak is caring and attentive and the atmosphere is fresh, modern and clean. Would recommend those looking for something different to come here.
