About us

Specialties: We are an award winning, fine dining Mexican restaurant, formerly located in a distinctive, historic Denver home built in 1887. A Denver tradition for many years, La Loma offers a unique environment with award winning family recipes. Happy Hour 3-6 pm every Monday through Friday! La Loma provides a variety of solutions for your special occasion including semi-private and can accommodate intimate dinners to large parties. We also offer a variety of catering options. La Loma offers brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm. Established in 1973. The former location was structured out of three mining homes from the late 1800s. These homes were united together to create the Colonial, the Victoria, and the Cantina. We recently relocated to the heart of downtown Denver across the street from the historic Brown Palace Hotel. Evolving somewhat over the years, we offer a "Tex-Mex" menu combining authentic Mexican recipes with flavors from the southwest, and continue to serve many of the same award winning recipes as we did the day we opened, including our famous green chile.

With more than 4,400 positive reviews, I doubt that I have much to add. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the waitstaff are friendly and attentive, and most importantly the food is very, very good. The chips and salsa were tasty. We arrived in time for happy hour so we ordered margaritas on the rocks and frozen. The amount of tequila was generous. Our table also ordered the happy hour appetizers. They arrived piping hot. For our entrees, we ordered the Carne Guisada, the Anniversary Plate, and a burrito. The burrito was topped with chili and served with rice and beans. The Anniversary Plate included a stuffed sopapilla, chili rellano, and chicken flauta topped with guacamole, sour cream, and the restaurant’s famous green chili sauce. The restaurant is popular so reservations are a good idea. Highly recommend!

Had a great dinner at La Loma. The fajitas came out sizzling and were very good. Great guacamole,.however for $14 I would expect something a little larger. 3 of us took it down rather quickly. It would not be enough for 4. Should be a larger portion given the price. House margarita had.good flavor and was decently strong. Server was a little bit of a miss. He seemed like he was annoyed we were there. Never asked if we wanted another drink or needed anything. Very nice looking inside the restaurant.

In the heart of downtown Denver right next to the Brown Palace. Place is a bit upscale from your traditional Mexican joint, but it has character for being downtown. I didn't have a reservation at dinner time, but the hostess was nice and advised 20 mins was reasonable, and she was very nice in keeping an eye for earlier seating. Started with the chips and salsa. Great salsa then went with the guacamole, was delicious. I had the Mexico City Street Style Tacos with carnitas, and they did not disappoint. The house Margarita was delicious and well balanced. Rice and beans are very authentic. Server Nick was attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous . Great place for Mexican food if you are downtown. Parking challenging and traffic can be a hassle but worth it

This has to be one of the top five traditional Mexican spots for me. The drinks were incredible and the food absolutely outstanding. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, conveniently located around a lot of hotels and businesses which makes us an ideal spot for happy hour events. I definitely will be adding this to my list of stop in spots when I’m back in Denver.

We got there shortly after they opened for lunch and the place packed in fast! Service was fast and the food was amazing! Unfortunately we had to work so we weren't able to drink any alcohol. We had the mexican street tacos, flautas, and pick 2 - taco and enchilada with half green and half red sauce.
