I must admit, I have a weakness for croissant sandwiches. They do me in financially when I get a good one. This place? Apparently got the memo about it. This place has all sort of sandwiches on flakey, delicious croissants. Makes me feel almost french... Almost. Came in on breakfast and man, they got a devout following for the morning, this place was packed. Though, the popularity didn't slow these people down, my order needed to be made fresh, and it still came out with the quickness. And lord have mercy on my little green soul, that sandwich was delicious. Sausage, egg and cheese was all it needed and it still felt like there was more. I will now financially doom myself here every time I drive by. Amazing.

I haven’t actually been to La Belle Bakery yet since I live up in Fort Collins, but today I stopped by Lima Coffee Shop and grabbed a few pastries—one of them being a Financier aux Carottes (Carrot Cake Financier). I took a few bites while driving and immediately thought, “Oh my gosh, this is life-changing!” As a foodie who appreciates high-quality pastries—especially French ones—I was seriously impressed. When I got home, I called the coffee shop to ask who made that amazing carrot cake, and they told me it came from La Belle Bakery. I looked them up and enjoyed reading about the founder and his journey from France to starting a bakery here in the U.S. As a fellow food business owner (I run two food trucks), I really respect the hard work and ambition that takes. Starting a business—especially in a new country—is no small feat. The financier was so good I literally went back to Lima just to buy the rest of the carrot cakes they had! I haven’t been to the actual bakery yet, but honestly, if this pastry is any indication, I already know it’s the real deal. Next time I’m in the area, a visit to La Belle is definitely on my list!

the nutella cruffin was my favorite thing we tried!! the strawberry croissant didnt have a bold strawberry flavor but was still a good croissant!
