Japonaise Bakery is a Japanese bakery specializing in Japanese confectionery and baked goods. Staff is friendly and able to make orders quite quickly, and I've never had an issue with any issues being out of stock or not prepared quickly. The food is alright. For the price point, it is a bit on the higher side in my opinion, but the quality makes up for it. I've gotten a few of their sandwiches, and they're good but kind of small for their price, but it was quite tasty. The pastries are good as well, no complaints about them.

Love this establishment for its great baked bread and pastries. We especially like the Asuki cream dessert in its various forms, with red beans and matcha flavor. The whole wheat and white loafs are light and fluffy. The butter rolls are very buttery and soft. The finger sandwiches with egg salad, ham and tuna are quite delicious. Not everything is great but this bakery is such a wonderful place to come to when we feel like something sweet or a light snack. We are very happy that it's in our neighborhood.

Would love if there was a space to sit but this bakery is incredibly small. There’s benches located along the street outside that are available to sit at, but obviously if nobody else is there, it’s decent weather, and you don’t mind eating outside. No parking available so you’ll have to find something on the street, and I don’t believe there was a restroom either. Our pastries were pretty good, and the buns with tuna inside were surprisingly good too! Would be great if they sold sauces to go with their onigiri, without it I gave them a 3 out of 5 as both the fillings and the rice itself also could’ve used more flavor. Cashier was kind but as we waited for him to grab our items, a young Asian girl with glasses came up in his place and without acknowledging or saying anything to us, she rudely shouted for the next customer in line in our faces. As mentioned before this bakery is incredibly small so when he came back a few seconds later, we had to squish between the two groups of customers placing their orders at the register to grab the bag from him - don’t know why she couldn’t ask for us to move or wait the 30 seconds it took for him to grab our items off the rack when there were only a few people behind us in line???

I used to live in the condo just across the street from this tiny Japanese bakery back in 2006. So yes, I might not be the most objective person in the world to rate this wonderful, amazing place — but the melon pan was such a nostalgic treat that instantly brought back memories. Trust me, I’ve been to Japan 10 times since then and have tried at least 100 melon pans. This one? Slightly sweet, crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside — just the way it should be.
