Il Palio is an intimate restaurant in the Siena Hotel. We strive to emulate the best of the great Italian tradition of hospitality and quality at the table and in the glass. Our vision is simple - use the best local and Italian ingredients as purely as possible and serve them with comfort and pride. We cook as an Italian might in North Carolina. At Il Palio you will find regional Italian classics as well as Chef Diggs' vision of Italian cooking. We serve deliciously simple food that, hopefully, tastes as good as you remember from your last visit to Italy. As in Italian culture, we take effort to shorten the time and distance any ingredient spends from the soil, water, or air, to the plate. We import pasta from Naples, parmigiano-reggiano, balsamic vinegar, sea salt, prosciutto, extra virgin olive oil, and truffles because they are so distinct and virtually indispensable to the creation of a great Italian meal.

Massimo took such great care of us last night! I’m gluten-free so I checked the menu online prior and saw they had gluten free pasta, but to my surprise they additionally had gluten free bread, meatballs, brussel sprouts, and almond cake! It was so delicious, we will be back!

This place is unbelievable! Beautiful atmosphere great service and quality food!!! As it was our fist time there we ordered almost the whole menu 🤣 everything was delicious from the original appetizers: meatballs freshly made with actual meat, the super soft juicy and full of flavor grilled octopus and the bruschetta with onions and an amazing jam to the fresh pasta either bolognese pappardelle or truffle tagliatelle and for deserts amazing gelato or sorbet and of course tiramisu and lemon blueberry jam cheesecake!!!!!

I loved my breakfast here!! Everything was perfect, the place is cute the service is awesome our waiter was really nice. I totally recommend the smoke salmon! We got the açaí bowl as well and was great, the egg Benedict, cappuccino and coffee. I want to come back dinner time

Celebrated Xmas and a friend’s bday over superb dinner. Wife and friend enjoyed veal chops, I had roast duck. Champagne, fine wine and beer. Freshest, flakiest pastries for dessert. Delightful night!
