As I was warmly greeted by a very nice employee, I literally stopped and said "Wow, I love this!" The inside is super stylish and reminds me of an Instagram boutique. It is a trendy salad bar that offers soups and sides like French fries and chips as well. There are so many toppings to choose from! Think subway, but at least triple. Everything was super fresh, flavorful, and the portion was enough for lunch, dinner, and I mixed what was left in my eggs the morning after. Pro tip: only dress the part of your salad you intend on consuming so the leftovers don't get soggy. One salad is enough for three people honestly. The prices are very fair. This is definitely a must stop for lunch if you are near downtown Visalia!

My husband, daughter and I stopped by The Salad Shop tonight and noticed the name had changed to “I heart Sammies” . We walked in an immediately noticed a few changes besides the name. They have added a lot of new items to the menu. They still have a great Self Service Salad Bar with fresh ingredients, A large variety of Soups, and numerous options for loaded Baked Potatoes, Tater Tots and Fries but they now have Sandwiches, Wraps, Smoothies and Hot Dog options as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful which is always a plus. The owner happened to be there while we were there, and he went out of his way to answer questions and make sure we were happy with our food. He reopened the restaurant on the 8th of July and you can tell he is has already made several nice changes. My husband decided to try a Philly Dog, the Hot dog was very large and smothered with steak, onions, and peppers. My husband said it was delicious and well worth the price we paid. I ordered a Smothered Baked Potato with Chili, Cheese, and Jalapeños and a fresh self serve salad. The potato was so large I couldn’t even begin to finish it and took half of it home for lunch tomorrow. The chili was delicious and meaty. My daughter ordered the French Dip, we were pleasantly surprised how much meat was on the sandwich. The Roast Beef was both tender and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and we will be back to try so many new menu choices especially their sandwiches.
