Awesome food, service and Atmosphere - all 5+ stars! Great selection of not so small plates 😀 We ended up opting for only these and had no need to even look at the larger options. Recommendations include the lamb hummus (comes with a large pita), crispy cauliflower, octopus, and pork belly.

Gypsy Kitchen is emblematic of true Mediterranean hospitality and amazing cuisine. Outstanding cocktails (the Cyprus water was the standout). A wonderful value driven wine list. The small plates (tapas) were incredibly delicious. The pinnacle was the pork belly and also outstanding value for $18. The small chef's board of cheeses, Serrano ham and Bresaola came a close second. The halloumi, falafel, and crispy cauliflower all top notch. The octopus was not as tender as we expected but the flavor profile made up for it. The branzino very freshly butchered and perfectly cooked. Gypsy Kitchen's lamb shank was the best I've ever had! Kudos the the chef! The decor is beautifuly unique. The attention to detail shows everywhere. A perfect trifecta. Beautiful decor, extraordinary cuisine and excellent service. A very memorable dining experience! We highly recommend this phenomenal restaurant!

Small plates are overpriced in general but luckily the dish that I got was a little more substantial. Taste is great though! Halloumi is nice and thick, the peaches were warm and spicy, bread was not too crunchy not too soft and the prosciutto was flavorful. Maybe the big dishes will be better cost efficiency wise. Cocktail was pretty and got pretty buzzed quickly so you get your money’s worth probably!

I have walked by this place for years and thought, "Golly, I should try that place.". Then I never did, until today. Bottom line, Gypsy Kitchen: you won't find a better priced value and food quality in town for Sunday brunch. Now that Brookland's Finest is long gone, I thought it wasn't possible to find a brunch location you could actually get into and not lose your paycheck and still get good, rock solid food. This is that hidden Sunday brunch gem, and it's smack dab right in the middle of the hot 14th Street strip. It is terrific because our server was top notch, the food he recommended was superior to comparable outings in town here, and that upstairs outdoor deck on a gorgeous spring Sunday was not impossible to get a great table, nor was it pretentious. My friend had a Bloody Mary and the Spanish Benedict, and she just loved the quality and healthy portion of greens that evened it out. I had the kefte burger with insanely great tomato jam and wow was it flavourful. Run, don't walk. Everything is closing in D.C. thanks to the massive lay offs at the U.S. govt. Don't let this great joint slip from our collective fingertips.

A beautiful restaurant with delicious food! We always sit on the patio upstairs and the ambience is unmatched. A must have is the lamb hummus, which blows our minds every time. The sangria is delicious and we went during cherry blossom time and they had some delicious cherry blossom themed cocktails. Another great small plate was the mushrooms with the soft boiled egg!
