Late with this review from two years ago. Sorry! We were going to eat in downtown Galena but little did we know that fall is the worst time of year on a weekend. We headed south out of town and found this restaurant and decided to stop based on Google reviews. They were semi-busy but not full and we were told it would be a 1/2 hour wait due to only one waiter working. We got seated and the waiter did his best to do his job but he was spread thin. The 4 star is due to understaffing, not the waiter himself. My husband and I didn't want a lot to eat so we shared a crispy chicken sandwich with fries, slaw and potato bacon chowder. Everything was tasty but the kale slaw was bitter. The restaurant has close tables and is dark. There is a place for a band and I imagine those nights would be very loud (and not for us.) We would eat here again if we were headed through past there.

I had a great time at this location last night. We ordered some poutine, pub salad, pork tenderloin medalions, and the fired chicken sandwich. I have never ordered pork tenderloin before that wasn't breaded, so I had a different idea for what was coming. I was amazingly surprised by the flavor of the tenderloin. They used a honey and whiskey infused glaze that had so many great flavors, sweet, spicey, salty, and more. A MUST try, I am so glad I stumbled on it. The poutine was good and unique, not quite the same type of gravey I am used to with my local poutines. The salad was large and ranch tasty. The fried chicken sandwich was also done well. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. The food came out on time. They also had some live Irish music to boot. Overall, it was a great experience and something I would come back for.

We have been here twice in the span of a week. Ordered the poutine both times, however we didn't take a photo either time as we knew what we were getting! The Shepard's pie was perfect and the fried chicken was just as perfect. I did get a pic of the fish and chips, subbed side salad instead of the chips as we had those in the appetizer. Can't wait to go back!

Great food and great Irish whiskey selection. I've never seen a white gravy with a texture like this. I would stay at this hotel every business trip if they were open every day and had their kitchen open later. Unfortunately it seems they've cut out their Taylor fladgate port wine selection but they still have a cheaper option that is acceptable. Breakfast is probably better here than any other hotel in town if you can wait until the later serving time.

My mom, sister, and I came here for a late dinner after traveling all day and it was beyond expectation! Atmosphere is amazing, very warm and cozy pub feel, and there was live music playing for most of our dinner which was great The food and drinks were phenomenal, shepherd's pie was hearty and delicious, it was exactly what I wanted after a long day! If you're nearby you need to stop in, it's a wonderful place!
