Specialties: Our menu is inspired by the Mexican regions of Yucatán, Oaxaca, and Veracruz. We strive to respect the influences and traditions of these diverse cultures to bring you food that is uniquely El Jefe. We believe in doing things the right way. Not because it's trendy or cool, but because it's right. We change our menu with the grow season, supporting our neighbors and the terroir of Colorado. We are not your average Mexican joint, rather a reflection of our environment and beliefs. We hand make our tortillas every day. All of our pork comes from one whole hog. Our chefs breakdown the whole animal, for chorizo, appetizers, stocks, soups, and entrees. Nothing is wasted. We do this out of respect for the animal and for the people who raised them for us. Anything we can produce in our kitchen is done by us, with love. No frills, just good food. Established in 2017. We have loved the last 4 years we've spent in Sunnyside, Denver. We're proud to serve quality, locally sourced food to everyone who walks in our doors. We're not your average Mexican restaurant, and we'd love for you to come in and let us show you the delights of our food and drinks!

Yum! From the moment we opened the door until we left the staff was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and open to help pick items to try. Drinks were delicious. Well crafted, nicely balanced. Food was really good. If we lived in denver this would be on a weekly rotation.

Sunnyside's got a gem in this Mexican restaurant. Consistently excellent food and service make it a regular spot for me. The chef clearly has a deep understanding of Mexican cuisine and isn't afraid to innovate. Taco Tuesday is a must-try! My only suggestion? Elevate the tequila selection. It's currently the only area where they're falling short, especially for those of us who appreciate a well-curated tequila list. * Alright, gotta give this place 5 stars now! That Korean BBQ chicken taco last Tuesday was seriously amazing – the chef went above and beyond. Still holding out for a better tequila/mezcal selection though.

I was there for a work Happy Hour, so I didn't really get the full dining experience. That said, I did have some of their margaritas; a traditional Lime and a Mango. Both were OK, but I think I liked the Lime better. The other thing I tried was a Churro. Warm, crunchy on the outside, slightly chewy on the inside, and covered with the traditional cinnamon sugar. Yum!
