Dasom by Chef Kang is the real deal. The flavors are authentic and consistent, with generous portions for the price. The owner clearly knows both food and business, keeping everything well-organized. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality Korean comfort food!

This is a traditional Korean restaurant that is not Korean BBQ. The dishes are primarily braised meats and fish in spicy and sweet sauces. Stews and soups are also traditional and also popular. Customers are mostly local Koreans. There is usually a queue and the sign up sheet is hanging on the wall facing the door. Service is your usual rough and swift Asian style. Also the place gets extremely loud and boisterous during peak times. Parking is valet required if you park on their lot.

I've been here for lunch twice and enjoyed the food both times. Everything I've tried so far has been thumbs up, and I'll definitely be back. The dishes were well-balanced and not overwhelming. Having visited all of Chef Kang's restaurants, this one is my favorite. I'll definitely return when I'm craving for homemade style dishes.

There aren't many Korean restaurants in Koreatown for breakfast, but I think I found a good restaurant. It was delicious, and the price is reasonable. I'll definitely come back and try other stews.

With Oxtail soup on the menu, which I had and the broth flavor was so delicious it was mind blowing, you know this place leans into their comfort food claim. We ordered multiple dishes and all was good, but the only thing that stood out besides the soup was their kimchi. Most dishes are very reasonably priced and that certainly is why it is was packed at lunch with a crowd that had an average age of 67 (a guess). The service was fine and as you would expect, in the strip mall setting, was styled more like fast food restaurant. It’s good, it’s comfort food, but the only thing memorable was the broth on the oxtail soup that had a whopping $62 price on it. For many who want Korean comfort food reasonably priced, it’s probably a great spot. I just expect more.
