Specialties: We are Broken Spirits, a distillery born from a love of forgotten recipes and the desire to create something new from the echoes of the past. Step through our unassuming door and be transported to a bygone era. Our speakeasy-inspired interior is a warm embrace of exposed brick, plush seating, and the gentle hum of conversation. Worn leather-bound recipe books line our shelves, whispering secrets of forgotten cocktails, while vintage lamps cast a romantic glow. And what better way to complement a handcrafted spirit than with soul-satisfying food? Our chef-driven menu focuses on elevated comfort classics, dishes designed to pair perfectly with our unique spirits. Think rich, slow-braised short ribs that stand up to a bold bourbon, or delicate seafood that finds its match in a crisp gin. Every bite is an exploration of flavor harmony. Broken Spirits is more than just a distillery; it's an experience. So, whether you're seeking a romantic rendezvous, a cozy gathering with friends, or simply a chance to explore the world of artisanal spirits, Broken Spirits is your haven. Come raise a glass, savor a taste of the past, and discover a new kind of comfort. Established in 2020. We are a chef driven BBQ and American Comfort Food restaurant

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Parking: 3/5 Family friendly: 3/5 Stroller friendly: 3/5 ADA accessible: 4/5 This was my first time at Broken Spirits distillery. Came oodles of times at Portuguese Bend distillery so it the restaurant is similar yet different at the same time. Major differences for me: I feel like this is more of a BBQ based restaurant/distillery with all the meat on the menu. (Don't get me wrong, I love the meat!). We ordered and shared the 16 oz prime New York steak ($44.99) which also comes with two sides! This is a killer deal that I would def come back for. For sides we got broccolini and fried Brussels. ( Alone they're $7 side). TBH, I kind of enjoyed the sides a bit more than the entree itself, but both were great. Cocktails were yummy too as they were about avg price for LA county at $14 each. Came fast and tasted great! There is plenty of seating inside and service was great. Parking is close in the garage across the street if there is no street parking. If you're on the area, I would def stop by here!

Love this place! The ambience is so nice here. Service: 9/10 It wasn’t busy, so sat at the bar right away. Hostess was very friendly and brought us menus. Took a little bit to get acknowledged for drinks, but it wasn’t a long wait. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Food: 7/10 The food was either really great or really mediocre. First we decided on the beer, once I heard they only had house drafts, I had to get one. Unfortunately they only had IPAs and I’m not a fan, but they had a house lager and it was super flavorful. By far the best lager I’ve ever had in my life, puts modelo to shame I hate to say. It was very strong, I can usually order two pints and be fine, but that one put me to sleep when I got home. For appetizer I tried a small house salad with their miso dressing and the chicken wings. The salad was fresh and the dressing was perfectly made, the best substitute for vinaigrette for sure. The wings I usually order naked when there’s no spicy dry rub available, then sauce on the side. They were very dry and overcooked, I still ate them because I was hungry, but I didn’t finish them. Then the brisket chimi-cheese sandwich came out with the house chips and it was the most interesting sandwich I had in a long time. The chimi, cheese, meat and pickle ratio was perfect. And I hate pickles, but it went so well with their sandwich so I kept them on. The sourdough bread was toasted to perfection and provided a nice soft crunch along with the tender and oh-so-juicy meat, the sour tang of the pickles made for a perfect combination. The sides were not a hit. As much as I love fried brussel sprouts, these ones left a lot to be desired. The flavor profile was too complex to understand, but most of all the dish was overwhelmingly sweet and I was unable to enjoy it. The bacon was also very overcooked so the flavor was gone and it was just turning the dust in the mouth when chewed. The waffle fries were ok, seasoned very well, next time I’ll ask for them to be cooked well done. Ambience: 10/10 I LOVE the decor, the welcoming feel of the place, and open floor plan. The rock music was at the perfect level to enjoy but not overpower the mood. I’m definitely coming here again to try more of the food and hopefully get to try happy hour one day.

This is a great restaurant and bar for food plus drinks. The happy hour is great and I love the carefully curated cocktails geared toward the long beach crowd. The food is unique and fresh. I came here a couple of times and even brought a group here. Although, they did not promise us a spot once we arrived they spontaneously arranged a dedicated area for us. Our group loved it that much they did not want to move on to the next spot.
