Food was great, atmosphere was great. I cant say a certain dish stood out to our party, but everything was good. Staff was attentive. The wine pairing was great but our server was not great at pouring equal amounts to the guests of our party.

BRESCA afforded a passable fine dining experience for my wife and I this Valentine's Day. We were greeted with a complimentary house-made Chamomile/Rooibos kombucha, which was a flavorful highlight of the evening. We opted for the $95 5-course Restaurant Week tasting menu, of which the highlights were the Hokkaido Scallops, the house-made brioche, and the chocolate coconut dessert (the black garlic puree on the Australian Wagyu dish was incredible too). Each course was delicious on its own, but the tasting menu as a whole didn't feel cohesive, and the dishes, while tasty, weren't optimally balanced. The whole menu felt like one rich dish after another with virtually no lighter respite for your palette. I'm someone who appreciates a decadent meal, but even I felt the heft of each passing course. The service was good; attentive but not stuffy. A few of the servers were difficult to understand over the restaurant music and chatter. But, overall we felt well taken care of and it didn't hinder the experience. The ambiance was... confusing. The aesthetics of the restaurant are upscale and put-together but the house speakers blasted T-Pain and Nelly (and all other manner of mid-2000s music) which felt discordant and jarring. And this is coming from someone who listened to said mid-2000s music in the mid-2000s. Overall, I'd say BRESCA is a solid 4 stars, but one of the weaker Michelin-starred restaurants I've had the privilege of dining at.

My husband and I made reservations here to celebrate our 1-year wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the food was equally impressive. At 8 months pregnant, I had some dietary preferences—particularly avoiding anything raw—and the staff was incredibly accommodating, especially with the tasting menu. This spot is perfect for a special occasion or simply a night out to enjoy excellent food paired with outstanding service.

Excellent experience. We did the chefs tasting menu. Everything was excellent. The courses did take some time to come out at the beginning. My favorite were the seafood dishes and vegetarian dishes. They dry age all their meats so the flavors are very rich and heavy. I personally would opt to switch those out for their seafood. I was looking forward to their pavlova but it wasn't on the menu, but the macaroon I had was excellent.

I had dinner here with a friend after wanting to try it for a long time. I could only get a reservation at the bar (which was honestly a bit strange) but still well worth it! We split everything we got, including the caviar, cacio e pepe, chicken and wagyu entrees. Everything was delicious but the chicken was by far the standout. It was cooked with stuff under glazed skin. It was maybe the best chicken I’ve had in DC. After dinner, we declined dessert but were served two Madeline cookies with a citrus glaze that was amazing. We also enjoyed speaking with the bar staff throughout our meal. I would definitely repeat! One of the best meals in DC.
