It brings me a lot of joy to see a Persian restaurant thriving in a community/food scene that is somewhat unaware of the beauty of Persian food. Azizam is a perfect entry point for those who have never had authentic Persian food, and also want to eat in a trendy space. As a Persian, I could definitely taste some authentic flavors that sort of reminded me of my mom’s cooking. I do think the food is geared a bit more towards non-Persians, but that is so okay! We ordered the ash e jo, the kofteh, and the kotlet sandevich. All were delicious and hit the spot. Definitely recommend the kotlet. I’ll be back here again to try more of their other dishes, but again, I’m so happy to see a Persian restaurant in Silverlake.

I loved everything about Azizam. I’ve had Middle Eastern food before, but this was my first time at a place that’s specifically Persian. It took us a minute to figure out what to order—some of the names were new to me, but the descriptions helped. I’m usually the type who scrolls through photos before deciding, but this time I went in blind, and I’m proud of myself for crushing it. The braised chicken was calling our name, and I convinced my partner we had to get the kotlet sandwich. I kept thinking about Maman’s fried potatoes, but we weren’t that hungry and needed to save room for wine. Oh, and I almost forgot—we also shared the Persian cream puff. Fluffy, with a soft hint of rose and not too sweet—perfect way to end the meal. I grabbed two of the candies by the door without thinking much about it. Popped one in my mouth while writing this—and damn, that little sweet hit wrapped up the whole experience nicely. Definitely coming back soon.

Great neighborhood spot. The turmeric chicken is tasty but agree with other reviewers it feels a tad expensive for what you get. Love the eggplant spread and the date drink. Service is thoughtful, friendly and anticipatory. Super cute patio, well done. Order at register and sit.

Loved it. Great ambiance. Unpretentious, wholesome Persian food. The soup was fantastic. It gets cold in LA when the sun goes down. It was delicious.

All I can say is wow. Truly authentic persian food but made with amazing care and originality. The menu is curated with a clear intention to go above and beyond the basics/kebab. The location is amazing and the physical space is lovely. AND the music was phenomenal - finally a restaurant that gives the aux to a staff member with some sense!!!!! it’s the worst when you’re eating somewhere really delicious and chic and they’re playing top 40. The entire atmosphere is very cohesive and very unique. And the staff are all just delightful. My best friend and I were clearly having the time of our lives, enjoying the menu, the music, everything, and the staff really let us just post up and enjoy ourselves. They clearly knew how to make everyone feel comfortable - from the typical silverlake riff raff to the true old school persians. Everyone introduced themselves, too. and they gave us complimentary cups of tea with our dessert!! Safe to say, we will be back. Tell your friends about this place!!!! Too many unique, small restaurants go out of business in this city too fast. We gotta show up and show out for this persian spot!! Much love to everyone at azizam - Michelle and suzie will be regulars!!!!
