As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we strongly believe in the philosophy of "people helping people" and it's catching on. We give back to our growing membership in the form of better rates and lower fees, and we give back to our community with hundreds of volunteer hours every year. We are working hard to make our little slice of the world a better place to live by bringing our members the products and services that they need and providing world-class service from people who live right in our community. Arrowhead membership is open to any person who lives, works, or worships in San Bernardino or Riverside Counties or select cities in southern Los Angeles County, Arizona, and Nevada; anyone employed by the State of California or is an immediate family member of a current member. In 1949, a small group of San Bernardino County employees wanted to start a credit union to provide each other small loans for their growing families, and payroll deductions to facilitate basic saving habits. As the popularity of a financial cooperative caught on, soon they had requests for car loans, home loans and checking accounts. Today we continue to evolve with the needs of our members, offering a full-service financial institution that continues to operate as a cooperative.
