Overall, I would give this personal banking branch 1 star. They simply are not being transparent on the products they are pitching you on, specifically interest rates (new ones they roll out to clearly get your money to them with a high rate and then drop you to a lower rate without any transparency on exactly why). Standard, Bait and Switch marketing. I moved a lot of money over to their advertised money market account at 4.8%, and then the rate was never again that amount. What was so unethical was that when I asked exactly what the spread or interest rate I would continue to be paid on my large amount of cash, they simply said "we can't tell you that". I have other flexibale checking, money market accounts at BOA and merrill lynch they are completely transparent on what the paid interest rate is based off of, for example, the BSBY rate + 1 point spread, or 1 Point over Libor, etc. US bank refuses to tell you what your interest rate on cash is based off and that you need to move it into a frozen CD to have transparency on the rate specifics. Therefore, I would recommend using Bank of America/Merrill Lynch for any money that you want to make interest on. So, 1 star of the personal banking side. However, the 5 STAR review is for the Business banking side, specifically for US bank employee Renee Hathaway. This is the second business that I've used US bank to fund and Renee went above and beyond making sure I understood and had complete transparency on the rates, fees, etc of each product. Therefore, for ANY of your small to mid sized business needs, please reach out to Renee Hathaway, you won't be disappointed.
