Overall Rating and is it worth a visit: 9.25/10 and absolutely yes. Always worth visiting, whether you are a local looking for top-notch barbecue or a visitor coming from out of town on your own bbq journey. I had gone a couple of years without visiting Post Oak after my initial review, as I was spending my time trying other establishments throughout the state to see if any could rival or dethrone them from the top spot. While I had a lot of solid bbq at other pits, none were truly able to beat the brisket or overall bbq offering that Post Oak provides. As soon as you walk in, you're smacked in the face with a pleasant aroma of smoke and delicious meats and greeted by an extremely friendly and attentive staff, who are always willing to answer any questions you may have and will help guide you towards your best option. The owner is typically on-site bouncing around and helping both front and back of house, always looking to make the experience an enjoyable one for his customers. In true Central Texas-style, you have pickles, pickled onions, and white bread available at no extra cost, with soft drinks and sweet tea to go along with a full bar and tap list. While I'm not a whiskey guy, they have a large scale collection and have some daily specials on these for any enthusiasts. For the Texas traditionalists, they also have Shiner Bock available, along with several other beer and N/A options. Overall, you can't go wrong with making a stop here, as they have consistently been producing some of the best barbecue in the state for years and somehow only seem to keep improving. Whether it be for the brisket, beef and pork ribs, or just the enjoyable and energetic atmosphere, this is a needed first stop for anyone curious about Colorado BBQ. We who are about to dine, salute you! Full review at The House of Salt & Smoke

We ordered burnt ends, pulled pork, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, fries, and corn muffins, which was plenty of food for 2 people. Proteins: 5 ⭐ Sides: 3.5 ⭐ Price: 4 ⭐ The proteins were perfectly smoked, and the burnt ends melted in our mouth. The mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were incredibly salty for our taste. I prefer a BBQ restaurant perfect the meat over the sides. We would definitely return.

Good Texas style barbecue sandwich, the jalapeño Mac & cheese as a side was great, bar has a ton of whiskey and beer choices, super friendly bar service. The sweet tea was a little weak, no big deal.

Pretty good overall. Nice selection and good choose in sides. The brisket was very tastes. Like a typical Barbeque place they'll run out of stuff and they only have some stuff certain days so plan accordingly.

I live in Texas. I've eaten (and reviewed) a LOT of Texas BBQ. This place is definitely good Texas BBQ The brisket was well seasoned, moist and tender, with a nice bark, the pork ribs were flavorful moist and a little zesty(and my favorite) . The pulled pork was moist, as well. I think the pitmaster likes zing . :) Most of the sides had a little jalapeno kick as well. We don't usually get more than one side, but I was with my sisters family, so we tried a lot of sides. My teen nieces loved the mac and cheese with pulled pork, we had the plain also-- very creamy! The coleslaw was tasty(vinegar based not mayo, which is a big win for me). The mashed potatoes are whipped into submission, everyone enjoyed then. The muffins, those bummed me out a little. They are probably great right out of the oven, rather than warmed up. Not a big deal, I wasn't there for the muffins. I'll try them again next time to give them a fair shake. There's a full bar, plenty of nice folks in there keep the place running smoothly and the vibe inside is not unlike most local BBQ spots in Texas. Maybe a little fancier cuz it's in the city. :) It's a little piece of Texas in Denver, for sure. The location is excellent (though if you know the Tennison area, you know parking is terrible. If you don't know the area, plan to walk a couple of blocks) If there's a line, wait in it. That's normal for any Texas BBQ, I've waited in many a BBQ line and this is worth the wait. If it's crowded, grab extra napkins and go eat your BBQ in the park down the street. We are there on a Thursday. It was crowded but we got a table pretty quickly, and the line was short. We had a great meal and is definitely go back next time I'm in town.
