I recently visited Brent’s Deli in Northridge with friends as part of my quest to explore historic restaurants in Los Angeles. Starting with this iconic deli was a great choice—I’d been craving a pastrami sandwich, and so did my friends. Despite the place being packed, we were seated quickly, even with a group of five. The vibe was refreshingly down-to-earth, with no need to overdress—a welcome break from the typical LA scene. Here, it’s all about the food, not the atmosphere. The waitstaff was attentive and efficient, with everything running smoothly and on time. Our food arrived so fast that the waiting time was hardly worth mentioning. The pastrami was cooked to perfection, served on bread that felt meticulously prepared. If you’re looking for a spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a fantastic meal, Brent’s Deli is the place to go.

This place is a MUST and definitely not just a 'Deli'... Was driving through the area and was in need of some lunch... The food did not disappoint!. I'm not a huge pastrami fan but with such good reviews I caved and got 'The 555' |Grilled pastrami | Coleslaw | Melted Swiss | Thousand Island & Mustard on an Onion Roll, yum yum yum!! Also had to try the 'Stuffed Cabbage' being a cabbage fan & their house made sweet and sour sauce complimented the beef and cabbage so well. The only thing that could have been better was if our server didn't leave for the day and had someone else cover our table... Keep it up Brent's! I'll definitely be back!

Let’s talk pastrami! I’m a huge fan of pastrami sandwiches, so it’s kinda surprising it took me this long to go to Brent’s. They are renowned for good pastrami. That renown is not misplaced. This was, perhaps, the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had, and let me tell you, that’s a pretty high bar. With the generous sides, I was only able to eat half the sandwich, even though my taste buds were crying out for more. It made for a great next-day lunch. We went mid afternoon on a Saturday, which may have been near peak time. Even so, the wait was only 10-15 minutes. As soon as we were seated we were presented with a plate of dill pickles - garlic dills and fresh-pack dills. Both were excellent, and this was the give-away appetizer! The servers were friendly and efficient and the food came in a timely manner. In addition to the restaurant, Brent’s has a full service deli counter with a fine selection. I’ll definitely be back!

An excellent Jewish deli that can hang with the East Coast’s best!!!! Pastrami sandwich and steak fries were warm and delicious and portions were huge. While it was busy, service is extremely efficient and it’s a well oiled machine. They’re definitely used to the heavy traffic of diners. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. This place is awesome.

First timers here’! Amazing sandwiches, sides and very crunchy yummy pickles! Great friendly service and fully fully loaded sandwiches - so good!
