Cole was the best, highly recommend you ask for him! We celebrated a Tuesday night out, cost for three of us without tax and gratuity about $500 (prices broken down in photo of receipt below). Best nostalgic item from the bestia menu was the chicken liver pate đŸ„° Best new item was definitely the celery root đŸ€€and the sauce for the trout crudo was fire too đŸ”„Bought the cookbook and plan to make the Greek yogurt marinade chicken đŸ‘©â€đŸł Highly recommend this downtown la restaurant ⭐✚⭐ Five star service, food and atmosphere đŸ«¶đŸ·đŸ„ƒ wish I came home with a gallon of their pistachio ice cream!!!

My brother and I came to Bavel to celebrate after having a fabulous evening at Saffy’s a month before. Knowing they were under the same owners we were super excited. While the environment offered a vibey atmosphere, the food and drinks were delicious, but didn’t quite hit the mark for us. The duck hummus felt like a must and was a solid addition to the mushrooms and cauliflower sides. We loved the shawarma with amazing flavors, but felt the oxtail didn’t have enough. Overall, we were full and happy with our choices, but wished there was a bit more punch to the flavors. Will likely be sticking with its sister restaurant, but was glad we got to try it!

STUNNING. Yes, it’s a hyped spot, but it totally lives up to it—this place isn’t just about the aesthetic, the food delivers. The open kitchen is a fun touch, and the high ceilings with greenery give it that trendy, rustic feel. Theres heater in the outside patio so it’ll keep customers comfortable even at night. It’s very busy and tables are packed in tight, so if you’re not a fan of people squeezing behind you, sit yourself on the inside of the table. Now for the food—this is what gives this review a 5star. We were a party of six, and dishes were timed and served in a way that flowed perfectly. Here’s what we had: Baba Ghanoush: Smoky, charred eggplant paired with fried dough—so good if you love eggplant. Hummus Duck Nduja: Creamy hummus with flavorful minced duck in the center, served with a pillowy pancake-like bread—one of my faves of the night! Chicken Liver PĂątĂ©: Smooth and rich, paired with tangy sourdough—really well balanced. Moroccan Carrots: Served over yogurt sauce—unique and surprisingly addictive. Grilled Prawns: Super flavorful and spicy! We got two orders and it was the right move. Salty, but the creamy cucumber that comes with it balances it out nicely. Butter Lettuce Salad: Not my favorite—mostly just tasted the lettuce, even with all the toppings. 26oz Margaret River Ribeye: Cooked to perfection. Super fatty, but the fresh and pickled cucumber salad on the side cuts right through it. Loved the contrast. Slow Roasted Lamb Neck: Fall-off-the-bone tender with the perfect fat-to-meat ratio. It comes witw pickles, and what I think was tahini—amazing with the flatbread underneath. Everything was incredibly delicious, but fair warning—it definitely comes with a hefty price tag. Still, for a special night out with friends or food lovers, it’s totally worth it.

Bavel is hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in LA. I’ve been coming here regularly for over two years, and it’s consistently outstanding every single time. The food is bursting with flavor, creative yet comforting, and always perfectly prepared. Every dish is a hit, and the quality never wavers. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This place truly never disappoints — a must-visit!
