Sometimes a dining experience can start off poorly, but improve as the general manager realizes problems and makes rapid decisions to make your dining experience excellent. For us, Kō Än was such an experience! We were warmly greeted and led to our desired quiet, private table along the wall. After ten minutes, our server finally showed up to introduce himself and take our order. He was a nice person, but we could tell he was inexperienced and frazzled. After we ordered some glasses of sparkling rosé and appetizers, we waited fifteen minutes for the wine to appear, and another fifteen for the apps. In the meantime, our server took our mains order. We asked him to make sure they didn't show until after we were done with our appetizers. After sitting for a long 40 minutes with no food, we were pretty concerned about how things would turn out! Almost as if she could sense something was wrong, the manager Brandy Ray came over and apologized. She said they had several server problems and were also slammed with more customers than normal that evening. She offered complimentary refills of our rosé an said she would make things right. And then the main meals arrived...before our apps! So she sent them back, instructed the server to tell the kitchen to make new meals, then wait until we were finished with our starters. The rest of the evening Brandy checked on us AND kept those glasses filled, even though we had ordered a bottle with dinner. Our sushi apps were California and spicy salmon rolls. They were excellent and quite large! Our meals were the (airline) chicken rice and Indonesian duck (curry). Both were flavorful, interesting, fresh, and of more than sufficient quantity as main meals. The wine list was interesting with by the glass and bottle options. I had mentioned to Brandy that I had questions about some wines, so she sent over Tolson the Sommelier. Not only was his knowledge excellent, of course, but his easy-going manner and warmth made it nice to interact without feeling ignorant. Brandy offered a dessert on the house, but as we were the last table, we didn't want to delay closure. A few minutes later she arrived with the red plum seifredo, which I think was supposed to be "semifreddo", the famous Italian semi-frozen dessert. No matter the misspelling, this was a fantastic way to end the evening! It was simply one of the most expertly prepared desserts we've ever had- not overly sweet with just the right amount of cold, creamy, and peachy flavor. There were missteps in this experience, as is becoming very common in the restaurant industry. But how these important businesses for our enjoyment and social interaction handle problems directly affects anyone who likes to dine out. Brandy, Tolson, and Kō Än did the right things and turned a potential disaster into a wonderful experience! We will be back.

Suburb dining experience! The duck wings were the best wings I’ve ever had, the seasoning and texture were perfect. Steamed buns were perfect, Sake roll (unpictured) was perfect, so on and so forth. Desserts (I can’t remember which picture is which) were both incredible. Service was wonderful and very quick; our server was great with recommendations. Cannot wait to go again!

My husband and I come here all the time and love it! The ambiance is awesome, we love the ample space in the restaurant and how clean everything is. The bar makes great drinks, and if you don’t like anything on the drink menu; they will make whatever you would like. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The lobster buns are a MUST! They are AMAZING! We love everything on the menu- we love to order a bunch of things and eating it all! I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is top tier. The ambiance is amazing and beautiful. The theme is modern Asian and there is a mixture of all of the Asian countries' decor. The ceilings are high, and the lighting is strategic and sets a relaxing and romantic mood. There are private room for large parties but the main dining room is huge. The food is the best that I have ever tasted. I had the lobster claw Japanese curry on the winter menu for an app. For my main dish I had a sushi roll. It was divine. The dessert was the star. I cannot explain that the textures were beautiful and the flavors were balanced. No sugar high, and so much flavor. I had a sorbet with my dessert and my boyfriend had ice cream with his dessert. When he tasted my sorbet, he preferred it to the ice cream which was also amazing. This is pricey so this would probably be a dare or celebration meal or if you're like me, go on a random Tuesday.

Everything tasted delicious - out of this world at Ko An! We got the lobster buns as an appetizer which are very tastey. The bibimbap was made very well and the Thai red curry has a very good sauce. The desserts were exquisite! The restaurant is so pretty - the high ceilings, tables, and even bathroom, are absolutely gorgeous. They also have fantastic outdoor dining. I am really impressed with this restaurant. Can't wait to go back!
